beaded deadbolt VM
This deadbolt is made of solid forged brass and has a finely detailed beaded pattern. 2 3/8 inch standard backset; requires a 2 1/8 in boring. Single cylinder is shown with a turn on the inside and key on the outside. A double cylinder is keyed on both sides. Finishes available: polished lacquered brass with life time finish; unlacquered brass, antique brass, polished nickel. polished chrome, oil rubbed bronze, polished bronze. Beaded Back Plates
The Oval Bead Pattern dates to around 1900. Choose it to install on your old house with its existing keyed mortise locks (by the way, we restore those and key them) or on a new old farm house. Our sets are made of solid cast brass. These back plates are too narrow for use on pre-bored doors. If you are installing new doors, order them without the 2 1/8 inch boring. 2 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches. The center of the opening for the doorknob to the center of the round part of the key hole is a standard 2 1/4 inches. The opening for the doorknob is 5/8 inches.
From the drop down box to the left: Select your finish and how you want to use them. Without a key hole for use with a passage latch for non-locking doors; with a key hole for use with a keyed mortise lock; with a privacy hole drilled next to the doorknob for a tube latch privacy function; with a round hole and turn key for a privacy mortise lock, as a non-turning dummy set. The exterior back plate is bored to accept a modern deadbolt. The interior back plate includes a turn key. Back plates are 3 x 11 inches. The set includes a split spindle. It works with a Baldwin mortise lock #6375 and #6010 and Baldwin cylinder (available in locks and latches section)
the #6375 mortise lock has buttons on the front of the lock that allows you to lock the door on the way out without a key.(with EG) The #6010 does not have this feature. (non-EG) Both locks are handed. The cylinder is selected based on the thickness of the door.
