The Oval Bead Pattern dates to around 1900. Choose it to install on your old house with its existing keyed mortise locks (by the way, we restore those and key them) or on a new old farm house. Our sets are made of solid cast brass. These back plates are too narrow for use on pre-bored doors. If you are installing new doors, order them without the 2 1/8 inch boring. 2 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches. The center of the opening for the doorknob to the center of the round part of the key hole is a standard 2 1/4 inches. The opening for the doorknob is 5/8 inches. From the drop down box to the left: select your finish: polished brass or antique copper. Then select how you want to use them. Without a key hole for use with a passage latch for non-locking doors; with a key hole for use with a keyed mortise lock; with a privacy hole drilled next to the doorknob for a tube latch privacy function; with a round hole and turn key for a privacy mortise lock, as a non-turning dummy set. The orignals date to 1900, Neoclassical pattern inspired by Greco/Roman architecture. They measure: 6 1/3 x 2 1/4 . Available in lacquered and unlacquered cast brass and polished or matte finish cast bronze; this back plate pairs well with all of our doorknobs including brass, bronze, ceramic and glass. The center opening is 3/4 inches making it also compatible with most antique doorknobs. Sold by the Pair.

The Egg and Dart pattern originates in ancient Roman/Greco architecture. The egg represents life and the dart death. Cast in solid brass and finished by hand, this hardware pattern dates to around 1900 and is still very popular 100 years later. Back plates are 2 1/4 x 7 inches. Roanoke Floral Doorknobs 390301. - Reproduction Roanoke Floral Doorknobs 390301.
The Roanoke pattern was made by Corbin Lock Company of New Britain Connecticut starting around 1900. The original pattern was pressed in brass. Ours is cast in heavy solid brass. The face of the doorknobs feature a neoclassical pattern with beading around the edges. The doorknob terminates with a turned foot. Roanoke floral style doorknobs. 2 1/4 inch diameter. The original set dates to 1900. Our set is sand cast in solid bronze and is then finished by hand using the same techniques of over a century ago. The neoclassical period came at the end of the Victorian period and has design elements taken from ancient Greek and Roman architecture. The doorknobs are 2 1/4 inches in diameter and the back plates are 2 x 7 inches. This set pairs well with our palmette hinges.

The Lorraine pattern dates to around 1900. We recreated the original dies and reproduce these in solid bronze. The pattern is inspired by architectural details found in the Lorraine region of France. The original finish was oxidized copper. We offer the pattern in light bronze and dark bronze (shown). The dark bronze has stronger highlghts and goes well with with oil rubbed bronze hardware. Rosettes have 2 1/8 inch diameter and are not suitable for pre-bored doors unless the boring is first filed in. The doorknobs are 2 1/8 inches in diameter.
